What changes next
Defra has consulted on requiring inhibitors to demonstrate efficacy before going to market, using the same 14-day in-vitro test that EU Regulation 2019/1009 already applies. Our active ingredient meets it today.

Most inhibitors on the market use NBPT. Ours uses MCDHS, certified under EU Regulation 2019/1009, which is the standard UK FPR has consulted on adopting.
AHDB puts recovery from triple superphosphate under 10%, and says so until more efficient products arrive. NovoPhos is built for that gap.
Under the Red Tractor standard, inhibited urea can be applied all year in England, while uninhibited urea is limited to 15 January to 31 March. You either source pre-treated urea, or supply the inhibitor directly into your formulation process.

The UK Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism applies a levy on nitrogenous and NPK fertiliser imports from 1 January 2027, with no free allowances, and the liability sits with the UK importer. Unlike the EU CBAM, UK origin alone does not determine your exposure: compliance requires embedded-carbon data, traceability, and evidenced carbon pricing.
